I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but let me give you an overly complicated response explaining shit.
If you have oil in your plug wells, it could just be a valve cover gasket but since you said "on the electrode" I'm assuming you get oil burning on startup and have concluded it to be the valve stem seals.
Here's the procedure without removing the head:
- Tear down the top end and remove the cams, you'll want a tool like
this one.
- Remove the spark plugs, and fill a cylinder with rope that you can fit through the spark plug hole while leaving enough to get it all out.
- Rotate the engine until the rope puts pressure on the valves (this way the valve won't drop into the cylinder!)
- Use the tool, remove the keepers, remove the spring.
- Pop the old seals off with pliers or a hook like tool (don't damage the valve stems)
- Pop the new ones on (use some oil so they don't get damaged, and use a deep well socket.) You'll feel a "pop"
- Use the other side of the tool to put the keepers back (this function is a little more difficult)
- Repeat with each cylinder
- Put everything back together
Take your time, it's not difficult, but only time consuming without the head off of the car. I hope this is what you were looking for, and not a completely confusing as well as useless waste of everybody's time.
Let me know!
